When Indian police officer Inayat Khan (Sanjay Dutt) kills a Kashmiri family, the only survivor is young Altaaf (Hrithik Roshan). As Khan and his wife have recently lost their own son, they take this opportunity to adopt Altaaf and raise him into adulthood as if he was their own. But when Altaaf discovers that it was his own stepfather who killed his parents, he vows that he will not rest until he has taken his revenge.
